By the way, we ain’t cook nothing here.

Find some tarnished silverwere at home. Just add some water on cornflour to a paste. Your paste should not be too thick or too watery. It should be like cream you can apply. Next using your fingers, apply paste on tarnished silverware. Let it dry. Then use a cloth to polish off the dried cornflour and tarnish from the silverware. Lastly, wash it it with water and wipe it dry the silverware. TA DA,…..You have a shinning silverware again!!!

Hey kids. Here comes another question.

Everytime when we touch an ice, it feels sticky. Why?
    Is it because…
    A. The ice melts very fast
    B. The ice has glue on it (You must be joking ;))
    C. The ice is cold, our hands is hot
    D. Our hands is sticky

The answer is C. The ice is cold, our hands is hot

    Now, let me explains why…

The ice allows use to leave it alone, but is just that we ‘like’ to stick with the ice.

    Sounds funny?!!!

Well to the ice, our body temparature is very hot. Remember ice melting point is 32°F or 0°C. While our temparature is 98.6°F or 37°C. The moment our hands touch an ice, heat energy from our fingers will be absorbed by the ice. The surface that our fingers touch will melt a little.

Very quicky the heat energy will travel into the ice. The water(which was melted when our fingers touch the ice) on the surface of ice quicky become frozen again. The process of melting and frozen on the surface of ice creates the feeling of stickyness.

Unless we hold on to an ice without letting it go, allowing the heat energy from our hands keep flowing into the ice. This will make ice melts slowly and the sticky feeling will dissapear.

    What is a supertankers ?

Don’t confuse them with the tanks in the military. They travel on waters.

    Found this picture from www.auuuu.com

    Found this picture from www.auuuu.com

In fact they are large crude oil tankers which carry crude oil ranging from 150 to 300 thousand tons. With their full power on, an oil tanker with very huge inertia needs a long time to get to its maximum speed.

So kids, you might ask: “How do they stop then ?”

Well, kids. Even with engine set into reverse condition (propeller in reverse rotation), the oil tankers still need to travel about 10km before they can come to a stop. Remember ship don’t have brake. They can’t just stop.

With such a big internia on the oil tanker, they just can turn left or right as easy in driving the cars. So for every turn, the captain needs to set the direction of the propeller correctly well before the tanker make a turn.

Please help to save more turtles

A Sea turtle size is huge.

Normally, a mature sea turtle can be six or seven feet (2 m) in length, and three to five feet (1 to 1.5 m) in width, weighing up to 1300 pounds (650 kg).

Although, a sea turtle can swim very easying in the sea. It is very hard for them to move around the beach. And they look clumsy. If you seen a sea turtle before, you know what I mean.

Movement of sea turtles is made tougher with their short neck and short limbs or legs.
