Kids, sorry to disapoint you…

Ok, ok, ok…I know there is monster under the bed.

Well, my young padawan, use the Force.

According to research, sleeping with lights on can get you sick easily, this is because our brain will release certain kind of chemical when we sleep. This chemical will make us feel relax and comfortable. Thus, our heart can also take a rest.

But when our eyeball is exposed to light, this chemical will stop releasing. Our body will feel like “IT IS STILL DAY LIGHT” and keep working hard. This, in the long run will reduce our immune system. We will get sick easily.

There is only one way to keep ourselves healthy:-

WE MUST SLEEP IN A DARK ROOM…!!!

Hey kids, if you are affraid or scare. You can always switch on the a bed side table lamp and wear a eyes cover.

<?php the_content(); ?>

Step by step guide:-

1.Tear the old newspaper into small pieces. After you tear the small pieces, you still can use scissors to reduce the size of the teared pieces. Please make sure all the pieces are collected in the pail else it will be very messy. Depending on how big you want your cave to be. So, if you wanna make a big one keep tearing…!!! Here is where your friends can have a little fun while helping you… What Are Friends For…?

My suggestion is to tear around 40 - 50 pages of newspaper. While your friends are busy cutting and tearing newspaper, you can ask an adult to boil some water for you. Please, please, please…handle with extra careful on the hot water.

Collect pieces of paper into a pail

Use scissors to cut the paper into smaller pieces

2.Pour water into the small piece that you have just teared. Just pour enough water to cover all the small pieces. Make sure all the small piece are soak in the water. The process is to soften the newspapers. and remove colors, inks from the paper. Soak the papers for 30 minutes. At this point, you can add some food colouring to make your cave looks real.

Pour water into the pail

3.If you have time, you can experiment this. Instead of soaking the papers for 30 minutes, you can soak the papers for a week. But, be warn! It can be very stinky!!! By the time, the paper will look mushy. So, we will use a electric egg beater to turn our soaked papers into mushy papers. I just can’t wait for Cool Science Experiments For Kids…!!! Wua ka ka…

4.Once your papers look mushy. Go grab you screen.

5.Put the screen into the mushy papers. Time to get dirty!!!

6.Pull the screen out of the mushy paper. Make sure the whole screen is covered with mushy papers. Once you take your screen out of the mushy paper.

7.Allow the water to drip into the pail. Collect all mushy paper from the screen. Now, put the mushy paper or paste on the wooden plank. Keep repeating it…yeah…keep making your hand dirty… how you like that…hehehe until you get the size you wanted for the cave.

Hey, kids. Welcome back to CoolScienceExperimentsForKids.com.

This time around, we gonna do some cool science experiments with Cucumber

We just need cucumbers for our experiments

Go search around your fridge or go to your nearest grocery store for some.

Experiment 1: Get rid of fogging mirror

Every time after we take a nice hot shower, the mirror just get fog up.

We just can’t admire how beautiful our face is…!!! Can’t we? Worse still, I need to shave…

I found out this accidentally, you know my wife always put her left over facial cucumber in the bath.

I used those cucumbers to wipe off the fog so that I can shave.

The next day after my morning hot shower, I shaved straight away without having to wipe those fog away.

This ain’t right, I did’t need to clear the fog. What happen…?

After looking carefully, I found some streaky green marks on the mirror.

Ah ha, cucumbers…!!! I remembered I wipe the mirror with cucumber.

Explanation

Cucumber contains chemicals that can get rid of those water vapour from settling on the surface of the mirror.

Experiment 2 Leather Sheos Polishing

Kids help your daddy out here. He running late for an important meeting yet he needs his leather shoes polished.

Quickly go to the kitchen, cut a few slices of cucumber and rub those ‘green magic’ on surface of the shoes.

Then, just wipe any residue on the shoes with a piece of clean rag.

Ta…da… Daddy’s leather shoes is shinning again…!!! The trick always works for me.

Explanation

Though, cucumber can be use to get leather sheos shinning again but it cannot be used to replace shoe polish. This is only a short term solutions. Well kids , you just save the day…!!!

Experiment 3 Get rid of those yacky pest!!!

No Roaches...No Roaches...No Roaches

Damn..!!! I hate roaches.

Ok, missa doc can help you out here.

Go peel some cucumber. Put those cucumber peel around the house exspecially roaches entry points or any where you find roaches.

Now go drink a can of Coke and invite a few friends for a drink. Good things must share. Yeah…

Please make sure the can is make of aluminium else this experiment won’t work.

Wash the internal of the cans with clean water. Put peels of cucumber in the opening of the cans.

Put the cans around your garden.

Fire in hole…!!! No more roaches…

Keep replacing those old peels with fresh ones until all the pests are gone.

Explanation
The peels of cucumber have chemical that will react with the aluminium to release a smell which garden pest hate. Skin of the cucumber has cu-curbitacins, taste bitter but it is a good natural pest control. This is a safer method as compare to using pesticides to get rid of pests because we have children and pets at home.

Well, after this Cool Science Experiments For Kids YOU CAN…!!!

In fact, this <del datetime="2009-12-16T03:30:40+00:00">a</del> very simple experiment.

All you need is: 2 PIECE OF A4 PAPER…!!! and a pair of scissors

Hey kids, save a tree, save the earth, just find some used A4 paper. OK…

By now. I think most of you know how to fold a paper plane.

But, if you still in doubt below are the step by step guide. Just fold along the dashed line(s).

You will need two paper plane for this experiments

Judgement Day…!!!
Just fly your 2 private jets. Have a lot of fun.

What happen ? :-

Notice that:-

Yeah...We Are Go Up...!!!

Flight path of Plane 1 keep flying down.

But, flight path of Plane 2 was up and down. This shows that how Bernoulli Principle works when a plane taking off.

Explainations:-

Side View Of Your Plane

Bernoulli Principle Revisited

From the side view of your plane, you notice that the top surface is slightly curve upwards, while the bottom is flat. So when you fly your plane through the air, the air flow speed on top has to travel faster to cover a longer distance. The air flow below the wing is slower.

Remember to what Mr. Bernoulli said, “a steady flow of fluid (gas or liquid), the pressure of the fluid decrease when the velocity(speed) if the fluid increase”

Ah…forget it!!!

In the case of your plane, the air flow on top of the wing is faster, therefore creating a lower pressure region on top of the wing. While the slower air flow under the wing creates an higher pressure region. Thus, the higher pressure helps the plane to take off or flying upwards.

For more flying actions…!!!

If you run out of cornflour at home, just click on the picture and buy some from Amazon.com

No more talking…Let’s get started with it….

By the way, we ain’t cook nothing here.

Find some tarnished silverwere at home. Just add some water on cornflour to a paste. Your paste should not be too thick or too watery. It should be like cream you can apply. Next using your fingers, apply paste on tarnished silverware. Let it dry. Then use a cloth to polish off the dried cornflour and tarnish from the silverware. Lastly, wash it it with water and wipe it dry the silverware. TA DA,…..You have a shinning silverware again!!!

Next, cornflour can help daddy or mummy to remove excess polish from car.

Kids, daddy just like to polish their car don’t they.

We can help them make their car shinnier… hahaha daddy gonna love us.

Just put a tablespoon of cornflor on a cloth or a rag. Then we just wipe the excess polish with the cloth. Notice the excess car polish disappear. For your information cornflour can remove excess polish on wooden furniture as well.

That’s it for now…I am going to polish my car…now go get doc some cornflour…!!!

Everytime when we touch an ice, it feels sticky. Why?
Is it because…
A. The ice melts very fast
B. The ice has glue on it (You must be joking ;))
C. The ice is cold, our hands is hot
D. Our hands is sticky

The answer is C. The ice is cold, our hands is hot

Now, let me explains why…

The ice allows use to leave it alone, but is just that we ‘like’ to stick with the ice.

Sounds funny?!!!

Well to the ice, our body temparature is very hot. Remember ice melting point is 32°F or 0°C. While our temparature is 98.6°F or 37°C. The moment our hands touch an ice, heat energy from our fingers will be absorbed by the ice. The surface that our fingers touch will melt a little.

Very quicky the heat energy will travel into the ice. The water(which was melted when our fingers touch the ice) on the surface of ice quicky become frozen again. The process of melting and frozen on the surface of ice creates the feeling of stickyness.

Unless we hold on to an ice without letting it go, allowing the heat energy from our hands keep flowing into the ice. This will make ice melts slowly and the sticky feeling will dissapear.
